# Edi Gil — Designer and developer

Hi, I’m Edi, a designer of interfaces. I obsess over the craft, the product and the process. These days AI is part of how I work.

Developing skill through endless repetition bordering on madness, trying to find out how deep the rabbit hole goes. Burying myself in the details while trying to understand the big picture. The deeper I go, the more there is.

Currently I’m working on a passion project. So far, most of my work has been for:

- [TicketingHub](https://www.ticketinghub.com): Booking software platform.
- [Demyst](https://www.feedzai.com): Acquired by Feedzai.
- [Humanitru](https://www.humanitru.com): CRM software for nonprofits.
- [Tech Dynamism](https://techdynamism.com): Agency.
- [Parse.ly](https://www.parse.ly): Content analytics for newsrooms.
- [Coshx Labs](https://www.linkedin.com/company/coshx-labs): Agency, where I started my career.
- [trivago](https://www.trivago.com): Hotel price comparison.
- [Base7booking](https://www.mews.com): Hotel PMS, acquired by Mews.

## Case studies

- [Designing TicketingHub's website](https://www.edigil.com/work/ticketinghub-marketing-rebuild): I designed and built TicketingHub's new website, moved it off Webflow without losing search traffic, and redesigned it on a design system.
- [One calendar, many shapes: redesigning an availability calendar](https://www.edigil.com/work/ticketinghub-availability-calendar): A crowded availability calendar, redesigned twice, ending with one card per departure and a view for each way operators work.
- [Book. Pay. Done. Refreshing a booking widget checkout](https://www.edigil.com/work/ticketinghub-booking-widget): The checkout customers actually use, and the refresh that made its screens look like one product.
- [Three taps to a ticket: designing a mobile point of sale](https://www.edigil.com/work/ticketinghub-pos-quick-sale): Selling a ticket on the street in three taps, signing in with a PIN, and a dark theme.

## Down the rabbit hole

Experiments I haven’t built yet, and what I think about design.

- [How few screens can a booking take?](https://www.edigil.com/blog/compact-checkout-widget), 2026-09-21: A checkout with a screen per decision, rethought as one panel, one modal and one thank-you card.
- [The Illusion of Predictability](https://www.edigil.com/blog/the-illusion-of-predictability), 2024-09-14: Why designers are worse at predicting what users want than we claim, and why embracing uncertainty and iterating on principles makes better products.
- [Design is Everything and Everything is Design](https://www.edigil.com/blog/design-is-everything), 2017-06-12: An essay on the design process: John Maeda's three kinds of design, the pull between creativity and research, and why ideas need time and rest.
